Weekly Reflection #28 - Gratitude Reset
Each week, I share one insight. One piece of wisdom. One question to reflect on. (and a little Lagniappe)
Insight
My wife just got back from a week-long surf trip on the Osa Peninsula here in Costa Rica. I noticed a difference in her right away. For months, I'd let the slow creeping monster of negativity from our industry seep into my personal life. The volatility, the hype, the insanity. I'm not proud of it. Luckily for me, one healthy conversation with the person I love and respect most in the world snapped me out of my funk. She'd given herself a gratitude reset, and she passed it on to me.
A reset takes intention and a little patience to bring what really matters back into focus.
Look around you. Even if you're navigating chaos, a bad job, no job, or a bad relationship, there's a lot to be thankful for. Focus on the problems we get to work on, the people we get to solve them with, and the tools we get to use.
Wisdom
I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, "If this isn't nice, I don't know what is."
